The Manager Risk leads a team of two Credit Risk analysts and two Market Risk analysts. We assess the risk associated with non‑performance by our business relations and with adverse price movements. This requires a good understanding of and cooperation with the business units that develop new structured or standard products, develop pricing models and take positions in energy products. Risk Management is independent of these business units and reports directly to the CFO. Nevertheless we don’t simple restrict the business units from taking any risks but advise them on ways to reduce risks and at the same time increase expected results.

Responsibilities

The Credit Risk Analyst within Risk Management is responsible for implementation of, administration of, and compliance with the company’s risk policy and risk management processes and procedures in the area of credit risk, strategic and thematic risk assessments.

The Credit Risk function covers four areas:

1. Credit risk management         

2. Strategic and thematic risk assessments

3. Policies & Procedures

4. Risk Support & Advice
   

Key tasks

• Analyze creditworthiness of trading counterparties and end users;

• Align credit assessments and reports with international parent company;

• Guide internal approvals through international parent company;

• Monitor credit events at business relations and industry trends using internal and external sources;

• Report on current and potential future credit risk exposures;

• Set up of policies and procedures that are used in credit risk management;

• Monitor adherence to credit risk policies, procedures and limits;

• Proactively challenge the business on existing positions and deal proposals;

• Proactively support the business in mitigating credit risk matters and liquidity risks of margining;

• Execute, coordinate and review strategic and thematic risk assessments;

• Discuss strategic risks with managers and directors;

• Contribute proactively to strategic choices by providing the Manager Risk and other managers with clear advice;

• Coach and guide colleagues within Risk Management.

Knowledge, experience and skills

• Master in Business Economics.

• Knowledge of and experience with energy (trading) business.

• Knowledge of and experience with credit risk management.

• Knowledge of and experience with internal control.

• At least 3 years of relevant working experience.

• Experience with analysis of financial statements.

• Fluent in English and Dutch.
