EP NL, a subsidiary of EPH-group, has established its presence in the Dutch energy market in early 2023 and has successfully acquired a trade & supply company and four state-of-the-art power plants. With a combined capacity of 2.6 GW, EP NL has become the third-largest operator of power plants in the Netherlands.

As the company aims for further growth, we are seeking a candidate with approximately ten years of experience working with policy makers, political officials, trade associations, and participating in coalitions while building strategic relationships. 

As a Regulatory Affairs Officer at EP NL, you will play a central role in managing our regulatory processes. You will have a strong focus on working with both internal teams and external stakeholders, building and maintaining a positive external reputation.

In this role, you will also be responsible for monitoring and integrating our commercial and strategic interests within the regulatory framework.

The Corporate Communication & Marketing department will report to this position.

The position is based at the head office of EP NL in Middelburg – given the focus of the role, presence in the office will be flexible and will be determined based on need.

The Regulatory Affairs Officer will report directly to the CEO of EP NL.

What are your key tasks?

  • Pro-actively set up a structure for managing relevant external and internal topics;
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive regulatory affairs strategy;
  • Influence, co-develop, co-own, and advocate for policy positions, in close cooperation with relevant departments;
  • Monitor risks and opportunities in the regulatory space closely, identifying potential implications and enabling / activating advocacy in response;
  • Ensure alignment between our value proposition, strategy and future rules and regulations;
  • Represent EP NL in trade associations / bodies, as part of a wider trade association strategy & ensure participation of relevant colleagues in relevant bodies;
  • Actively develop relationships with relevant external stakeholders, e.g. politicians, regulators, associations;
  • Report comprehensively on upcoming policies and political developments to the EP NL Board;
  • Align on developments within other EPPE entities.

What do we expect from you?

  • 10 years’ experience working with policy makers, political officials, trade associations and participating in coalitions and building strategic relationships.
  • University / HBO degree with a deep understanding of Dutch regulatory affairs
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills;
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure within strict time constraints;
  • Strong communication skills and a high sense of ownership;
  • Team player, result driven, strong organizational skills;
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks;
  • Ambitious to grow further in the organization, having leadership potential;
  • Fluent in Dutch and English;
  • Accurate and result-oriented.
